MICHELIN Guide-recognised Cantonese wonton noodle restaurant on Campbell Street in George Town — one of the rare shops that still practises the ancient art of kneading noodle dough with a bamboo pole. The name 'Tok Tok' is the onomatopoeic sound of a chef riding the bamboo as the dough is rhythmically compressed under body weight, creating noodles of exceptional bounce and bite. The signature wonton noodle soup features springy bamboo-kneaded noodles paired with jumbo wontons filled with minced pork and whole shrimp, in a clear, flavoursome broth. Also serves dry wonton noodles and Cantonese side dishes. Open Monday, Wednesday, Friday–Sunday 9:30am–7:30pm. Closed Thursdays.
