One of Malaysia's most famous night hawker centres, located on the Gurney Drive waterfront in George Town, Penang. Transforms into a vibrant night market every evening from 5pm to midnight with dozens of stalls offering the full spectrum of Penang street food: char koay teow, asam laksa, hokkien mee, rojak, pasembur, oyster omelette, satay, lok lok, roti canai, and cendol. Famous stalls include the perpetually queued char koay teow (Stall 71 or 107) and assam laksa stall (Stall 79). Prices are slightly higher than elsewhere on the island but the experience and atmosphere are unmatched. Cash only. A must-visit evening destination in Penang.
