Taiwanese home-cooking restaurant hidden in a heritage shophouse off Chulia Street in George Town (宅滋味). Chu Bee Taste of Home serves Taiwanese-inflected Chinese home cooking in a quietly atmospheric setting on Jalan Masjid. The signature dish is braised pork belly bun: slow-braised soy-spiced pork belly tucked into a soft, steamed mantou — the Taiwanese gua bao (刈包) in spirit, though prepared in the house's own style. Also serves Taiwanese-style braised chicken thigh bento sets, stir-fried vegetables, and soups. A low-key neighbourhood favourite for working Penangites. Contact: +60 4-226 1059.
